When I drive the Turbo they always just point me to a place up front. Never had any problem valet with the 964. When you think about it most new cars have as much or more power then the 993 or 964 and are worth more so the thrill factor isnt really there.

First time I valeted the car after I got it about 5 years ago, I waited about 20 minutes for my car. Valet guy comes back,"Can't get it started." Give him the tutorial and takes another 20 minutes for him to get back. Now, I just ask to parkup front if not offered. 20 dollars seems standard here in Chicago.

Another NFW. . . Usually I say it has a very tough/hard clutch, thus I would like to park myself, usually that and a $20 works. Otherwise, I gladly walk. No big deal.

A valet parking poll? Cripes, sometimes I think my income level must be a little less than the norm here.
However, I used to occasionally hang out at Moonshadows in Malibu and I don't think you could go there if you refused valet parking. I imagine some other joints in that same area have the same policy due to very limited parking.

Why is it valet stories are so irresistable to read
My only story is when valet'ing my 993 one time with race seats, [bolted to the floor, ALL the way back and low low low in the car for legroom as well as helmet room] the young kid got in after I warned him about the non-adjustable seats and he virtually disappeared The look on his face was priceless. He asked how to adjust the seats, I told him that I warned him -- called for a taller Valet kid, even he could barely reach the pedals. Dangerous, yes, but in the end I got a kick out of it

Only once, never again. Parked at the Montage in Laguna Beach. Thought "high end"...they won't mess around with it. It came back with a few more miles on it than needed. I explained to the manager....free night & dinner. Cost them a pretty penny....but certainly not worth some dip from "cruising" in my car.

My car is for driving-not for parking. It hardly sees any parking spot other than my driveway or garage. So you can put me in the "NFW" category.

Never, never, never. Well maybe... OK never!
As most I tell the insurance story, tip the guy well and ask him where in the back I can put it where it will be safe and I can get it myself when I leave.
Always works, albeit, sometimes with much scmoozing.
