Help Needed for 993 Purchase Price

I would buy a nice Coupe, if I found one. I ran across a Guards Red '96 Cab last night that when I ran the CarFax today, the CA title was clean, but the car showed a salvage title in NY and OH.
The owner has not done the 60K service, but since he drives the car daily on his short commute, the 60K mile mark is fast approaching. Thanks everyone.

This link will keep you busy. Take your time. I spent 7 months searching and the right one came along one day.

IMO it is better to pay more for a great car than bargain hunting and hoping for the best. If your difference is a couple of grand with the seller and its a fantastic car I would go for it, simply because of math. The 993's are not made anymore, there were not made in any great numbers either.
For 1998 there were about 1000 cabrios brought into the country only! I personally would pay a premium for a 1998.
The market and the price when it comes to our cars is really what the buyer will pay. You may be looking at a "fair market" value and while you are doing that someone else may buy the car... Its up to you really. In the words of Clint Eastwood: Do you feel lucky?

Yes, there are many Porsches in CA, but the cars that I've encountered so far all have had an issue or two or three. I went to look at a '96 Cab on the 4th. It had 999 color code with a special order color, but both the front and rear bumper covers were replaced as well as the hood. Nice otherwise, but the yellow flag was raised and I want my 1st 993 to have all it's original body panels. There are even times where the seller is just obstinate and I don't need any new headaches. A little or no excuse car has not come my way, yet. I'll catch one, one of these days. I've actually sent out two new feelers this evening.
