Thanks Martin.
Basically the 993 is classified in N.
We take points depending on the modifications from a pure stock car.
The first class is NSS (pure street Stock) only allows 2 points (No R compound tires). Next is NS with up to 8 points. Then NP up to 20 points I believe. The reason david and Shannon are in NP are due to some extra points over me and Joel. I believe Shannon has big reds, a limited slip, the RS wing, Having 285's at the rear?
David, I believe is in NP because of the rear wing?
I am personnaly at the limit in NS (8pts)
The trick for me is that I use an ugly wing however I take no points for it because it is the Aerokit2 wing which was offered by Porsche on the 993 as an option
This is the only leading edge wing that takes no point within the rules of our club.
I plan on moving to NP next season and play with Shannon and Dave G

And I guess you get two shots at me next week, Porsche Parade AX on Wed & the Grudge Match AX on Friday.....I hope all the 993 RLr's can run as close as we did last week because that was really really fun.....ZP44/Joel Bowman

If you pre-register It is usually around $40.
we have 8 practice runs divided in 2 sessions then 1 timed session with 1 practice run and 3 timed runs.
If the number of participants is small there have been instances of 5 practice runs/practice session.
Lots of fun.

I can t believe we are arguing over 1/100th of a sec in an Ax with less than accurate timing equipment.
I thought I ran a 1.01.33 and you ran a 1.01.31
Now we probably wouldn t be talking about this if I hadn t hit that stupid cone on my 1st run since my time was 1.01.02 + 2secs penalty for that damn cone.
I m not doing the grudge on Friday (Can t take the day off work but I ll be running on Saturday. Hope you re there.
I do agree trhat it is really fun to be running this close

ZombiePorsche44, according to PCA results page, you were clocked at 101.31 and Touf at 101.33.
2ndof2. You do have to be a PCA member, but if I recall correctly, that's only $40/yr and includes a monthly subscription to Panorama magazine - well worth it. Our costs of autox entry is $40 (or $60 if you're late).
Parade AX will be a bit of a clusterfxxk because of the huge number of entrants, so drivers will get very few laps - maybe three. Normally though, you get at least 12 laps and sometimes up to 16, depending on the number of drivers. Usually four runs/laps, per run session.
You'd be in Zone 8 though and specifically the Santa Barbara PCA: http://www.pcasb.org/main/ . Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are a whole lot of driver events in your area. Maybe there are other PCA branches near you that offer more driving events. I notice LA vs. Orange County is like that. LA has very few driving events and O.C. quite a bit.
Also, consider the POC (Porsche Owners Club) which offers the STS series (short track series) at Willow Springs race way near Rosamond (Streets of Willow track actually). They are much more driver oriented than PCA and you'll get a LOT more seat time at the STS than you ever will at an autox. POC costs $70/yr to join and the STS is about $160 for a day or $240 for two days (or close to those figures - don't quote me on that). However, it is so worth it if you want seat time and continuous lapping around a super fun track.

No arguement here, just getting the facts straight, and the sheet on the table had 1:01:30 printed at the end of the day for me. I have no idea how that was changed but se la vie' I'm only as good as my next result anyway
One thing I can say for a fact is, the last few run groups had an easier track than the first 5 or so groups due to the corner workers moving the last right hand apex cone before the finish line, about two feet to the right mid event, with the excuse that "everyone was running it over and they didn't want to pick it up so much as that was the fastest part of the track", which by the way makes perfect sense to me.
At the time as you may remember, I was running start with instructions from timing & scoring to keep 5-6 cars on the track at once so it was damn busy out there.
We stopped the event to have safety look it over and it was left in the altered position for reasons not disclosed to me.
If you want to see the proof go to the pcasdr.org website and look at the in-car camera shots from the last run groups and think about the way it was when you ran it earlier.
Not a gripe, especially since I topped class, just an observation in the name of Truth, Justice and the American Way!

Mr Zombie:
You could be right but let s not forget you had many reruns because of timing issues.
So in your case one could say: Practice makes perfect
and it's: C'est la vie.....
See you on Independence day Bud.
BTW: Do we have to tech the cars this WE at the Town and Country Inn or does that happen on the day of the AX?

I'm not sure about tech Mr.Touf, but I guess we'll find out at registration on Sunday.....and by the way, I didn't need the extra practice, it only got my tires too hot which caused me to lose a tenth or so.
Excuse the improper spelling, I don't speak french but you still got the meaning of what I meant.

PS: let's drop the Mr. Zombie crap, it makes me feel old......LOL

And we as a group, also beat every 2004 GT-3 & even a 2007 GT-3.................god that's satisfying!

hmmmm
one might suspect that that result is more a function of driver skill rather than car capability?
or have i read too many P car GT3 marketting brochures?
Congrat's on overwhelming the competition ZP44.
best wishes

If the margin of victory was much more than what it was last WE, it just wouldn t be as fun. Running so close is what is exciting.
But you have been working hard at this for a while now...... So it's well deserved.
Take care Joel.
