Must be that "John Kerry" syndrome- he actually bought it before he bought it and decided not to buy it. Next it'll be the "Al Gore" syndrome where he actually invented Porsche.
you are totally right..i bought a 996..great dealer in nc...the reason for selling the 3.2 and buying a 996,was STRICTLY due to the a/c issue..if one looks through my posts you can see the reason was mainly due to a/c..nc is hot as hell and we all know 3.2 a/c is no good...the 996 was 26k and i was getting good money on my 3.2..i got the capital one check and was done..cleaned and waxed my car for the guy and was ready..i wanted a porsche and a 911..i had 2 boxsters,so i am done with them..i never really loved the 996..BUT it is a 911 and does drive very good..oh and its 26k..that night i was looking at my car,and looking at the pix of the 996,and i couldnt do it..just the looks of the 996 was enough for me to not get it.. it just didnt excite me..the 993 does do it for me...on real hot days i drive our audi wagon..
Joey c,
Sounds like you really like 993 more than 996.
Our A/C works just fine! And please once you have that oil cooler overide switch installed, you should be FINE everyday...
Next time you are behind a 996 C4S...really check out the lines. I think you'd find their lines a little more sexy than a normal C2 or 4. The wider flares really are a beautiful site....although I am biased. I think a lot of 993 and earlier owners would agree on the 996 C4S. I have a 3.2 also.....but I'm in love with the *** of my newer car.
