Default SAI code after top end? UPDATE

Finally got a chance to get my 993 to the shop who replaced my guides to try and figure out why the CEL is back on with the SAI codes.

Verified that the pump was working when power was applied to it. Also verified that the flexible air line was attached to the fitting on the check valve.

Since that was all intact he checked the vacuum on the motor, it was very low, almost non-existent and he found a small vacuum line disconnected just to the left of the engine fan. With that connected, vacuum was much better.

Could that have been the source of the problem? Not enough vacuum to open the check valve to allow the air from the air pump in? Thoughts?

Yes that vacuum line could be the problem. As I posted in your thread last month:

Right after I changed spark plug wires my car threw the SAI codes. The vacuum line that operates the SAI valve comes from a plastic manifold just inside the intake runners on the left side of the engine. I had knocked the vacuum line off of the plastic manifold so I put it back on and no more codes.
