Default Finished the caliper painting project..

Jesus, it took a bit longer then I had expected, mostly due to the fact that some of the hard lines on the calipers/ flex lines were kinda toast. Replaced/modded parts included-

New Yellow Caliper Paint (G2)
New Brake Pads
New SS Braided lines
New front hard metric lines
Painted the hats on the rotors
New lubed brake clips for the lines. old ones were kinda frozen
Cleaned and waxed rims (insides)
Cleaned and painted the brake rotor guards.
Bled system with ATE Super blue and Black Label power bleeder.

The hard lines were literally fused to their respective ends. Even with a flare wrench, I rounded off the nuts. I was in trouble when I tried to get the short front brake lines as there were none in the country. Wait on them from germany was like 4 weeks.. I found a great place in Mass. who can make you the proper Porsche line overnight, send them a drawing or a brake line and they will fab it and overnight it back to you, and it's the bomber thick stuff.. Not the lame stuff in auto parts stores.. Check Fed Hill

The painting caliper stage was okay.. tough to get an absolute perfectly smooth finish with the G2 system, but it does somewhat self-level. after it is dried, nothing sticks to it, including the stencil spray on logos.. Had to go back and use a decal type logo, but with a touch of clear-coat to prevent the edges from turning up at the ends.. Looks somewhat pro.. Could have done a better mask job, but only noticeable when the pads are out and the wheels are off.

Dont Laugh at the over-spray on the hats/disks.. burned off within the first few stops..

Other Photo is one of Geoff and myself over at Geoff's house doing a twin tranny flush and Swepco Refill

Doing almost the exact same thing to my brakes now too. Not doing the re-spray on the calipers though. Very nice work! Wish I had a lift though. I have been remaking my deck the past week to furniture grade spec (yes, I know I'm a knucklehead) so I am a cripple from being on my hands and knees from it. Being able to stand to do the work would be nice.

Chris, Now I know why you have steered away from powder-coating these for people.. Just kind of a pain to work on.. and time consuming..! On the better note, the dust boots were in decent condition, still were flexible and not at all hard or crusty.. A little bit of anti-seize on some of the brake line fittings will ensure I can someday change the things again without having the issues I had this time.
