Default Good Cosmetic Wheel Repair Resource in So. Cal.

I had a great experience with Jason Irby of United Wheel Techs. I have no business or personal relationship with him or his company. I’m just a customer happy with the result. And I know how hard it can be to find good repair resources.

Jason took several curb-scraped, cosmetically scuffed, scratched and gauged OEM wheels on my Targa and made them look new. He came to my house, jacked up the car in my driveway, and placed a wheel rotator workstation under each wheel as it was repaired. With a small power grinder and buffer, using them alone and like a lathe with the wheel rotator, he took out the scrapes, etc… and then airbrushed paint and/or clearcoat to finish up the wheel. This is all done without the taking the wheel off the car or the tire off the wheel.

Jason charged $125 a wheel. Given the cost of new wheels, and the convenience of him coming to me and only a few hours of downtime for the car, I think that is a reasonable price.

He is based in Orange County CA and will occasionally come up to the Los Angeles area, as he did for me. His website indicates that he sells his workstation set up to repair shops so there may be other locations around the country that use this process too. http://unitedwheeltechs.com/ Jason’s cell is 714-608-2928.

Best to all, Mark

Sounds like quite a service ...a bit pricey to do all 4, but for a single wheel with curbrash, sounds like a bargain! Excellent contribution, Mark!
