although on other earlier models porsche always tried to derive the model differentiation code from the word
P O R S C H E,
for example RS or SC or S, (from the middle of the word)
the S before was used for Super and other times for Sport,
on the 993, I was told in germany it meant the word "Speziell" for special series, for it was the only model without a power improvement difference between S and carrera, thus S not for Super or Sport

How about the 911 SC?

Didn't the SC stand for "Super Carrera"?

According to Peter Morgan's book, "SC" stood for "Super Carrera".

I can;t believe that no-one knows the real answer...It is very obvious, and I confirmed it on altavista, the 'S' stands for "Saaaaaaaaaaweet"

When it came out, the RS did stand for Renn Sport
RSR was the "race" version of the "Renn Sport."
I stand corrected. Thanks!

S = "Superfantastic - Thanks for asking...."

(Check South Park, Season 1 if you need to know how this is supposed to be said.)
