Default Part number lookup?

I finally got around to making sure I have all the tools in the tool kit in my new car. While poking around I found this bit 993.631.170.01 lying around under the spare tire. I'll try and get a picture up, but if there is some way to identify the part by the number that would be great. Its a bit of plastic 1.5" x 1/2", square on one end and rounded on the other. It doesn't look to be important, but it'd be nice to know what it is for.

Based on that part number, it looks to be a plug for the headlight mount. Check it out here:

Sounds like the cover on the inner fender wall that closes off the headlamp adjuster holes.

The .003 part number is the most recent (001 and 002 were superceded).

I'll try and get a photo up tonight.
