Default by-pass pipes

Just installed a set of Fabspeed by-pass pipes. Love them, sound great with the Max Flows. Only problem is the emmision fumes for me are making me dizzy,is there any one else who ever had the same problem?

Sure...especially at stop lights, in the garage...etc. Nothing you can do about it without cats scrubbing the exhaust. That's the trade off for the sweet sound and lighter weight in the rear end.

Eventually you'll kill off enough brain cells to not notice =P.

Just kidding, but for the pipes!

Yep, same setup here...the sound is nasty, nasty, nasty....only in the best sense, of course. Wifey says that the dishes in the dining room cabinet rattle when I start her up in the garage....

I too thought it smelled rich. I went to a dyno day though and the dyno guy said it smelled like it was perfect, at stoich. Results showed that was true.

So Troy, did the bypass pipes help on the dyno by themselves? Did you reprogram?

Don't know, I never dyno'd before the pipes. The car did dyno w/ more power than a '95 with the Steve Weiner chip and a '97 (I think) Targa, but doesn't prove anything. The car feels stronger than w/ cats, but again doesn't prove anything!

The thing sounds good though. Here's a low-quality, short vid a friend took at the track this past weekend:

Default by-pass

Just one other question, the day i installed the by-pass pipes i ran the car and the check engine light never came on until the 2nd day. Is it normal for the check engine to appear when running without cats, and why would it take a couple of days to appear?

Cool No CEL for me Yet

I have run the Cat By Pass pipes for 6 track days and a little street time. No check engine light...these are the Fabspeed cat bypass pipes.
