My 295/30/19 ps2's are rubbing. I want to try 285/30/19 to see if they don't rub but don't really want to buy new ones just to try. If you have a decent used pair you want to sell or whatever, pm me with details. 275/30/19 might be ok as well.
Thanks in advance.

Jeff, 295s on a WB should be fine. I just bought 295s for mine, which I have yet to install, but I researched it first and found many have them on WB without problems. Your issues might be offset and or camber related.

Louis,
How much negative camber do you have? I think I have negative 1.2 degrees on the rear which I know isn't aggressive at all but even with another degree I don't think it will clear. My HRE's are 10.5" with et 52 I think, but can re-check when I get home.

I haven't even taken delivery of the car yet but I have bought wheels/tires/suspension for it already. Wheels are 19x11 ET35 with 295/30/19 for the rear and after I drop the PSS9s, rear camber will likely be in the -1.2 to -1.4 range. You may want to check your ET so I can better help. ET52 sounds like it would rub on the inside of the wheel/tire.

Where are your tires rubbing? When I was using 295x30x19 on the rear, they rubbed on the Ruf rear bumper (at the joint with the body). Just a tiny bit. Since changng to 305x25x19, the rubbing is gone. In my case it was overall tire diameter, rather than the width. You really need to find out where it's rubbing to get a proper cure.

Steve, I am rubbing exactly where you were but also with the body right above the bumper. I was rubbing up top as well but have since rolled my fenders enough not to rub.

Jeff,
You will find that a 295x30x19 is almost an inch larger in DIAMETER that the same size tire in an 18". I think that is the root of the problem. The 305x25x19 is almost exactly the same height as the stock 285x30x18 tire. I have a 11x19" Ruf wheel (narrow body offset) that uses a 25mm (approx) spacer to properly center the tire in the wheel opening. I run a very non-aggressive alignment (very little neg camber). The thing is... I know lots of guys running the 285x30x19 and 295x30x19 tires, and they do not rub. Bottom line... I have no idea what I'm talking about. Perhaps its something to do with the way our rear bumpers are mounted?

Steve, I was surprised to read that your RUF wheels/spacers with recommended tire sizes would rub on your RUF body. I'll bet camber is the culprit. Are you running RUF specs?

Louis,
I can't claim to positively know the alignment specs, but since it was not rubbing at the top, but only at the back (where the bumper attaches), i don't think it has anything to do with width or camber. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.
Did you get the shipping info?

Not sure yet but I'll check and let you know soon. Thanks for checking in.
I don't know what RUF specs are but I've heard its a nice setup. You may want to look into it. The hood will be nice on the straights but on the twisties, a good setup makes all the difference.

I agree that it most probably is a result of the outside diameter being that much larger. Does anyone know how much smaller (outside diameter) a 285/30/19 is vs 295/30/19?
Steve, when my car was widened out in the rear, I saw a body support on each side holding the rear quarters outwards at about the area I'm rubbing. I will pull down the fender liners and see if I can adjust them out any. I don't think the body shop replaced these with longer supports, if I recall correctly, they fabricated extensions on them. If there's any play, I should be able to get the fender and bumper (where they meet) a few mm out more. It's worth a shot. At that point I will have an extra widebody cab. LOL.

Jeff,
All the tires specs are available on www.tirerack.com. A quick computation says the 295x30 will be 10mm x .30 or 3mm taller. Thats about 1/8"... if you kids are still doing math the way I was taught (slide rule).
Louis,
My car came with Ruf alignment and it handles GREAT. I took it to a shop to have it lowered just a teensie bit, and they rececked the alignment. I don't know if the jiggled it or not. I think they mostly left it alone. Hence my uncertainty.

Steve,
When I bought the HRE's (used) the rears had 265/30/19 on them and they were too stretched in my opinion. I had no rubbing at all. I really don't want to use those tires again and 275 might not be worth it for 10mm. I do like the idea of 305/25/19 so I should edit this thread.
Anyone have a pair of 305/25/19's the need to get rid of?

I'm glad Steve chimed in... I have the same set tires set up as RUFUS and you already have my HRE offsets. I have no rubbing at all...
