Default Which "White" is it?????

For the 993 model I see posting that say:

1. Glacial White
2. GP White
3. Carrera White

who knows which it is? If there is some breakdown by year here on line let me know...I tried a search but was not successful.

Thanks,

GP White is a well known Porsche Color that has been used for many years.
The other two don't sound familiar to me but perhaps other participants on
this board have more insight.

I have a 98 C2S in Glacier White. My '95 C2 was Grand Prix White.
I believe Carerra white is 996 variant, but not sure.

Grand Prix is more "warm," creamy; Glacier has a cooler blue cast to it.

I don't think Carrera applies to us, unless it's a Paint-to-Sample, or something...

Thanks...I particiapted in that thread and know it. People interchange GP and Glacial, etc. so was wondering if P did GP for certain years and then switched to Glacial. I not a huge fan of the Glacial but am of GP white. Looking for a 993 and just want to get smart on the paint issue. Don't want to drive 100 miles to look at a car and find out its Glacial...pics really don't work to distinguish especially if taken in bright light.

Remain calm. If your car is white, everything is just fine. If not, you've got the wrong color!

I always just assumed that they made both whites in every year. If you're concerned that the person selling the car doesn't know what color car he has, I know that mine says Grand Prix white on a sticker on the side of the trunk on the driver's side up towards the front of the car. You can ask the seller to look for the sticker and verify that he is correct about the color of his car.

Just like dcdude68 mentioned, the subject glacier white car in the photo has a slight blue tint to it while the Grand Prix White car's nose in the background has a slight yellow tint to it. Excellent pic for illustrating those two whites.

According to the "Porsche 911-Red Book" Glacier White replaced Grand Prix
White starting with the V Program cars (produced August 1996 and up).
Carrera White is not mentioned.

Thanks,
There's a color code on the hood sticker that specifies exactly which white you have along with your other options all of which can be plugged in to a Porsche option decoder site for exact spec.
