Default 993 convertible top jam

Hi,
My 993 has the convertible top stuck to the close position but not entirely locked.
I opened it tonight about 3/4 of the way turn the key to the off position for a while and then turned it back on again the close the roof. The roof now closes all the way except for the motors not locking it in place. Also I tried opening it again and nothing happens.
Any body know if the top can be reset? Or how to completely close it manually?
Thanks

Check your owners manual; you can operate the latches manually using a screwdriver; there is a recessed hole by each latch. It takes a lot of turns to close the latch.

You could have a problem with the motor that turns the latches in the roof liner, a bad microswitch or a bad top control module, which is under the dash.

Has your car had the warranty update to the latches?

Also there's a great deal of info about cab top problems and solutions on this site. Using the search feature will help get your answers quickly.

Thanks to both of you for your input. I did however forget to mention that the car was on a jack when I opened it I read afterwards in the manual that you aren't supposed to open the roof if the car is not level. Wondering if when I take it down it will work. (still working on the brakes at this time)
And no, I haven't done the recall yet but was planning on getting it in some time this month. I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago and going thru the list of small items to do.
