I just received these wheels from Carlos at Wheel Dynamics in CA with the intention of having them refinished locally. After looking at them, I am wondering if two of the wheels are replicas. All wheels have the proper part numbers. The fronts look like OEM take offs, have a dull gray paint on the inside of the rims and have a lot of very clear markings on them including the word “ITALY” and the part number 993 362 134 06 is on the right side of the wheel.
The finish on the rear wheels is not as good, there are fewer markings on the inside and the part number 993.362.140.04 is somewhat difficult to read. The part number on these wheels is on the left side of the wheel. The wheel is NOT marked “ITALY” on the inside and has no markings at all around the center section where the lug holes are. Also the rim of the wheel looks like straight aluminum with no paint on it.
Can someone confirm if these markings match up with your know OEM Turbo Look (turbo twist) wheels? I have a track event next weekend and need to get this sorted out ASAP.
Thanks in advance!
Mark

Mark, I'd say the fronts are probably OEM boxster wheels.. According to the following link, the rears should be oem as well.. My guess is that they have been refinished (sanded) on the inside, therefore the partnumber being difficult to read.. I could be wrong though but my 0,02$ worth! good luck

Mark,
I just bought a set of OEM Solid Spoke Twists from Carlos last month. The ones I have are OEM & have been refinished. They have the 993 part number & all 4 have the Italy stamp. The offsets are ET50 & ET65.
They are on the car so I can't give you the exact part numbers.

Thanks for the input guys. I did weigh the wheels and they come in at the correct weights. Viggo, how did you know they were boxter wheels? Are Boxters a 50 ET and 993s are 52 ET? I was told the boxter and 993 wheels are the same. Same part number as well???
Brian says his rears have "ITALY" stamped on them. Can anyone else confirm that the OEM rear wheels should always (or only sometimes) have this stamp. Again, mine do not say ITALY.
The other thing that is weird is that although the part number is hard to read, maybe because of paint infill from previous refinish, there is a very clear stamp into the metal that is not filled in with paint.

The front 7.5 ET 50 was used on both 996 and boxsters, for the rear 10 ET65 for 996NB, ET40 for WB, and some other offset for Boxsters. They look original, mine look exactly the same, just says Germany inside instead of Italy..

I wasn't sure about offsets on the 7,5" wheels. All I know is that 7,5" wide twists were never produced for the 993 series. Hence the conslusion that they must be boxster/996 wheels
. Good to hear you sorted everything out
