Just an update...used the whole setup at Watkins Glen last weekend...worked out great! Seat probably isn't as tight as a fixed, but it works great, and the 2" belts on the lap and around the HANS really allow you to get it tight.
The HANS was a PITA at first, but after the end of the weekend, didn't even notice it.
The whole mess was a pain to get, but now that they are in...the pain is fading away

Wow, that set up looks great! Wonderful persistence - I agree with you on the HANS first event it was PITA - now I don't even notice it.

I ran into some guys that were hoping to do the same thing last year...right down to the color. Seems there is a demand out there...you'd think Recaro could get it straight. Anyone else done custom leather Recaros and had any better luck?
P.S. Doh! And to think I could have had nearly the same thing for only $45 a seat! Cheap seats on ebay
