Default Faint Gasoline Smell

Have had this car for about 2 years now and still bothered by the faint smell of gas in the trunk. Checked all around for leaks and found nothing. Used to keep a light jacket in there for cool nights but couldn't wear it due the smell it absorbed.

Not talking about overpowering smell, but definitely gasoline. Is this normal, or are are there specific places I need to check for leaks or venting?

Thanks

Check around the fuel filler neck.

I had a similar problem with the smell of gasoline in the trunk as well as in the passenger cabin. It was solved when the dealer replaced the carbon canister.

My overflow hose on the filler neck was no longer able to be held by the clamp (it just slid right off. Replaced the hose and clamp and the problem went away.

Default Well.....

Read the post Jason provided and decided that I probably had the old 964 type fuel filler neck since mine is a 04/94 build. (Don't ask me if I carefully checked because I didn't.....) Anyway, ordered the latest 993 pn 993 201 043 00 plus the filler cap seal. Remove the old neck and it is the same pn. Guess I will be sending this new $127 filler neck back....Doh!

Hope the $3 filler cap seal fixes the problem....
