Road Trip: Possum Kingdom Lake
That is the real name of the lake that my wife and I drove to over our weekend. It is approximately 90 miles west of Fort Worth, beautiful bluffs, miles and miles of Texas wildflowers and nobody on the twisty roads. Those country boys don't let speed limit signs slow them down, they mostly drive 80 mph down the 2 lane country roads in their Pickem Ups.
We stayed at a resort that was on top of a ridge with views to the east and to the west. We watched a storm roll in and then pass over the top of us from a bluff that is about 300 ft above the Brazos River. We saw several deer during the daytime on the side of the road, we did not get a photo of them but did manage to see some goats enjoying their day on top of their owners Olds.
There was a terrific steak house at the Resort that served up on of the finest mesquite grilled filets that I have ever tasted. We will be going back to that area again!
Enjoy the photos!
