Default R+H alloys

Hey,

I can get a set of R+H RS lookalikes (one piece) for cheap second hand. Are they any good.

Methinks they look quite nice, actually. I think I'll buy them. The ones I'm looking at,, however, have bolts all around.

I had a set of RH Cup AG. They look nice and are inexpensive, but they're heavy and the rims can bend easily. So it's a mixed bag.

Peter, you are dead on! These are my favourite wheels for the 993. The cons are that they are a bit on the heavy side and that the thin deep lip (at least in the 3pc version) is prone to bending. I guess it depends on what the roads look like in your neighbourhood.. I think Gemballa also offers a 1pc version that looks pretty much the same. I saw a chome version of these listed in the classifieds not too long ago. IMHO the true 3pc RH 3.6 wheel is the nicest of them all. However they do not appear to be a good bang for the buck. But then again, it depends on what matters to you when choosing wheels: If it is the looks then go for it, if it is weight and durability I would think twice.. If you decide to go for it, then try to mount rubbers with a soft sidewall (e.g Michelin) to compensate for the thin lip. Bridgestone for example, would not be a good alternative since it has reinforced sidewalls.

This topic has been discussed throughly before. These threads might be of some help:

Good luck with your purchase!

I kerbed the offside rear a week ago, but because the outers are stainless steel , I got a small round file and after a couple of evenings careful prep and various grades wet and dry and some autosol to finish looks as good as new
RHs are a little heavy but i cant feel any difference, I sure if I was track day warrior it would make a difference but then I woud use a second set of wheels

Now that I think of it, at some point I compared the weights of the RH Cup AG wheels and they weren't actually that bad. Certainly not the lightest out there, but not the heaviest either.

Hehe, that's for sure . I assume the AG cups are lighter than the 3pc RH 3.6 wheel though? I know we were discussing a 1pc wheel but just out of curiosity.. TIA
