Default Strange dash squeal during braking/turning only

Hi,

I met with Luis today and took the Ruf out for a work-out. Both AC and fan were on. When he braked, or turned the steering wheel, there was a rather loud squeal from the dash area. Seemed to be from the duct area. No noice under acceleration or steady driving. This is the first time it's happened in the ruf.

I seemed to remember reading about the squirrel cage fan squeal in the dash, but a search turned up nothing.

Anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm no expert, but, could it possibly be a fan belt squeal that was amplified through the vent system from the rear of the car, and nothing more? Was it continuous or only the first time you turned? AC compressor belt or clutch?

I have experienced this noise also. My HVAC blower fan was the culprit. I attributed the noise, under steering, to the flexibility of the cab body. I lubricated the bearing on the passenger side fan and no more noise.

I thought it might be the blower fan as the sound goes away if I tuned off the AC or the fan. I'll give the lube thing a try.

Thanks.
