993 RS Glass Weight
Does anyone know what the rear 993 OEM glass weighs compared to the RS rear glass? Have an opportunity to replace it and am wondering if it's worth it.

I looked through the 993 RS technical bulletin and it made no mention aof the actual glass weights.
I am led to believe that the 2x door window, 2 x rear quarter and rear screen of the RS save approx 4-5kg in weight. On that basis does the rear save approx 1.5kg?
hardly worth worrying about, if you are interested in saving weight this way, it would probably make sense to replace all the glass (except front screen) with lexan or some form of poly-carbonate material.

Lexan rear & sides with front glass was my choice for my trackable cars but due to the fact that lexan is never the same dimensions and radius of factory glass, I was mindful to install vertical alumnimum straps on the rear window so it wouldn't blow out of the moulding on the uber fast straights.
I ran front glass because it was cheaper (approx. $150 installed for early 911 chassis) than lexan at the time and was much clearer after a few cleanings vs. lexan which tends to scratch over time.
