Well I have heard horror stories about 993 owners who cannot start their cars because the dang security fob ingnition enabler thingy runs out of batteries.

I was only stating what I saw with my own two eyes on Sunday morning nothing more or nothing less.....if you feel defensive regarding your 996's integrity, that's your insecurity, not my observation of the event.
It is also true that my 993 took a large rock strike at that speed and only suffered cosmetic damage, can you blame me for making that comparison?
If you read more into this, you are foolish!

[QUOTE=Ray S]
I'd put far more "weight" behind the stoutness of Porsche's 996 design after seeing hundreds of 996's mix it up in Grand Am Cup and ALMS racing [QUOTE]
Hundreds of em' Huh? Never seen that many 996's in either series unless you add all the years they ran combined.
And I disagree about 996 radiator stoutness, I've seen lots of 996 radiators holed in the same races you saw. (We actually have TV here in CA).
Peace brother....... ....ZP44

No war for me....
I am bowing out...de-selecting the thread.
I just know I would not have a car without a bullet proof warranty...and even then, I'll pass. GT3...now that is a different story!

You guys STILL crack me up....
Never bought into the BS when I had my 98 C2S and buy in even less now.
Love what you have man. No need to spread hate on others.

I've seen nearly the same thing happen to a 996TT an an autocross at the E-Center in Salt Lake City. He got out of shape and mowed down about four of the short cones. Coolant everywhere and they had to come get his car with a flat bed. As I recall, he had just recently obtained the car.

HATE? WTF? Dude I'm not Al-Qaeda or KKK, I'm just a guy who actually saw this happen right in front of me.
Quit being so damn defensive about your 996 and some of it's drawbacks and get on with your life.
