I bought new front indicator orange LED bulbs from AceParts.com. When installed, the blinking rate of these is double the normal speed. I know nothing about how this stuff works... is this an inherent effect of using LED bulbs in indicator lights? Is there a simple fix to make them behave normally, i.e. blink slowly? Please enlighten me. Thanks.

i dont have those lamps, but i guess is a situation associated with the circuitry that handles the intermitent lights. Probably the circuitry is using the resistance of the traditional bulb to make it turn on and off. The leds has differente resistance than a regular bulb and makes the new lamp blinks at different rate.

no,
while replacing your bulbs, one of them is not well hooked.
When it starts blinking fast in any car, this means that one of the bulbs is shot.

The problem is the flasher relay. The flasher relay works off the resistance in the system. When you blow a bulb, the resistance goes down and the remaining bulbs blink faster. LEDs have very low resistance so your flasher thinks you have blown a bulb and is blinkning faster. There are solid state flashers available that blink at a constant rate and aren't affected by the resistance. I don't know the source off hand, you'll have to google it.
