decals or not

Leave the acitone alone. Heat gun and adheasive cleaner(3M General Purpose Adheasive Remover). I agree ditch the stripes after you take digital pics . Prism Graphics in Seattle can make a new set for you to have with the car.

Stunning car. I think the decal/no decal question is a very personal one. I like it both with and without because it's not mine. If it were mine, I'd probably take them off.
If you are going to take them off, use a heat gun and be very careful. You may even want to take it to a bodyshop. If the stickers have been on the car for a while and they're well adhered, you could damage the paint. I know this happens often when people try to remove invisible bras. You also may have to worry about discoloration. I would start with the stickers on the splitters and see how that goes as it would be the easiest part to respray.

Joe, This is an easy one. Forget about what your buddies think. Forget about what Rennlisters think. Do what pushes your buttons. Keep them on for a while. Live with them and if you like them keep them. There is no right or wrong answer here but just preferences. Go with your stomach and not with your head. Just my humble opinion. I should qualify this by letting you know I on the other hand always do the responsible politically correct thing. That is why I am repainting my no accident 993 subtle orange, keeping its heritage in tact by modifying the engine and suspension and putting on some nice Carrera door decals and have just toally shaved off my long hair to get some weight savings
Oh, nearly forgot. Congratulations on acquiring such a wonderful and beautiful car.
All the best,

Leave them on...if they grow on you great!...if not take them off. Too early to tell. BUT NOBODY can make this decision for you. It is what you want. Can be justified either way.

I spend Friday through Monday on Devils Lake in Lincoln City. I am thinking about driving the 993 down this weekend. Shoot me a PM if you are going to be around.
