Default das sport Roll bar install - HELP??

Can someone tell me how the rear quarter panel upholstrey panels are removed for the lower brace install??

I am starting the install and as I take more and more of the rear backseat apart...it does not seem obvious how they are fastened.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

i just removed mine this morning and sold it so this stuff is fresh in my memory..

There are 4 screws for the top trim piece to remove first...

then I removed the 4 or 5 screws (forget the count) for the rear speaker shelf piece (this can be left in place but needs to be moved around to get side panel out)

..the side panel itself has some more screws and then is just popped out..

Does that help?

sorry, it's hard to explain...

OK..now I think I am really screwed. I tried to keep the belt mechanism clear and extended...the belt got a little twisted now I can't get it to unwind. It is locked...I am afraid to let it wind up any further.

Suggestions????

All is OK now...those seatbelt mechanisms are SOOOOOOO sensitive. Once you orient it right and play with it ever so gently it unlocks.

Anyways, bar fits great...time to paint.

thanks for your help Chris. Sorry to see your car "de-track"

Good luck and thanks again!!!

Yes, the seat belt retractors need to be upright for the one-way action to function. Sensitive, they are.

i noticed that today.. I had mental heart failure as I thought I broke them thinking new seatbelts would cost way more than the sale of the das bar proceeds.. so I was very thankful when it all worked once reattached properly
