Dyno run - whoah!
OK, I DID do a search and most of you - with the 3.6L Varioram - seemed to be averaging 250HP at the wheels... (some of you, as a result, discovered that your Varioram 'flaps' were NOT working...)
Well I got a printout of my post-elite-30,000-mile service ‘dyno run’ – which, I might add, the mechanic did for free (whilst he had the car in his shop).
He did two runs – both using 4th gear.
As we all know, this particular model of 993 has the 3.6L ‘varioram’ engine - which is advertised as 282HP.
Both runs consistently averaged 275HP at the wheels at 6000 rpm (max. on run #2 was 275.3HP) – (before the auto-fuel-shutoff started kicking in close to 6500 rpm).
That’s very LITTLE loss! I'm actually shocked!
I guess it’s because it’s a manual transmission and has a limited slip differential and has always been (to me and the previous owner) known to be an oil-leak-free 'strong' engine. (Plus - new filters, plugs, points, rotors, etc. can only have 'helped').
But heck, I’m STILL impressed!

P.S. And (apart from my recent Bilstein-HD suspension upgrade) she's "stock".

Where you there while he ran the car? Wasn't it great to hear your own car rev up? That was one of the best things I got out of the experience! What a sound!

Did you print the dyno chart? What was you max torque curve? What were the ambient conditions, ie. Temp. and humidity ratio? All these are driving result factors. Those are surprisingly good numbers.

Yep, I have a *printout* of the dyno run.
I'll scan it and put a link to a jpeg version of it.
I can only surmise that since it happened last weekend - in the NY (LongIsland) area - that ambient temps were around 45-50 deg. F and lowish relative humidity. (He did this in his shop - I don't see any 'environmental conditions' listed.)
