Default Slight OT: Large Porsche Wall Logo/Lettering?

I've got a large wall space to fill in my new garage. while I go out and collect a few pieces of individual Porsche/Racing pictures over the next year or so, to start i'd like a large sign/logo/wall lettering to fill the space. Nothing cheesy, just a dealer-esque type logo.

Also, keep an eye on Ebay. Sometimes some cool stuff comes up there.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. There is a guy on eBay that has the "PORSCHE" letters up for sale some times. I think that they are CNC Laser Cut Acrylic letters, so he can probably do almost anything you want. Here is an old LINK . Send him a message and ask for a new auction.

There is also this option:

Roe, yes I'm looking for that.....although the crest is pretty nice too but small at 15", I'd do either if I could get something a couple feet wide/tall to fill up a wall. I'll check up on ebay or if anyone has any other leads....

Check out the first "LINK" in my last post. That guy makes the Acrylic letters in any color you want. The last auction was for lettering that was about 8 feet wide and was about one foot tall.

Any sign shop can make up any size/color/shape letters you want on a peel-and-stick film. Or, you could have them do it as a reverse cut-out so that you peel off the reverse, leaving the letters on the white release paper. The paper tends to yellow a bit, however. Maybe they can put it on another media for you.

Hello!
To surprise my husband I ordered PORSCHE from Wall Words in the Porsche font. Our Wall Words rep specifically made/ordered the font for me after I gave her the origional PORSCHE font. They were really easy to put up and it looks fantastic. In fact I have ordered several sets as friends have loved it too. Our rep is Kristi Duelm. Phone 618-288-5082. She lives in Glen Carbon, IL. Call her and she will order the size you want and have it shipped directly to you. The sizing can be tricky because of the PORSCHE font, so when you order tell her the length you want for your space, not height. I did call her and she will know exactly what you want if you'd like to finish off your garage with PORSCHE!

Good luck!

Kbell, what are those letters made of? Are they stick on vinyl, or a raised 3-D material?

Wall Words have a qaulity product. The letters are flat stick on vinyl. Matte black. They came in a banner with film on each side. Easy to level and position. I put the banner in place then taped across the entire top of the banner with painters tape to hinge the banner. Then I took scissors and cut in between the letters so that I could work on one letter at a time. Flipped up the letter on the top taped hinged and slowly peeled the back of as I smoothed the top. Easy and they seriously look fantastic. I was the first time wall words custom made PORSCHE for a client.

Spoke with Kristi. She still has the font. She will know exactly what you want. Can get it in basically any color. And what is nice is that they will give you a smaller practice word. We got Ferrari. And although the letters are definately stuck to the wall, they would peel off easily if I wanted to get them off without a residue. They are nice.

Went to several print shops and they didn't have the font. Maybe if you took the font in to them they could. But none of them actually had the correct font.

Good luck!

Stephanie

Thanks Stephanie.....for the benefit of all, I talked to Kristi and I'll just post how much it costs when she gives me a final price in the next day or so. no GB or anything, just to let others know.

As promised....these are from the contact Kristi mentioned in the other post....seems reasonable. I'll post the quote I get from the acrylic lettering guy too if anyone is interested. that product is a little more substantial(laser cut plexi letters) for about 2x the price of the vinyl letters quoted below

"Below you will find first the size of the letters (i.e. 3 inches, 4 inches, etc.) then the length the whole word would be. For example, as you stated you were interested in filling a 5-6 foot area so you would probably want to go with either the 6 or 7 inch lettering. The third number you see is the price that that size will cost, including shipping.

3" = 28.25" ($18.28)

4" = 37" ($21.78)

5" = 47.25" ($25.28)

6" = 57" ($28.78)

7" = 66" ($32.28)

8" = 75.5" ($35.78)

9" = 85" ($39.28)

10" = 94.5" ($42.78)

So cool. I was just about to ask this today.

There is a sign shop here in Lexington that can create a sign board out of any file/pic file. If we can find a very high quality Logo and/or crest image, a sign board is pretty easy to create and looks very good. As well, the sign board can be hung/taken down much easier than stick on letters in my opinion.

Does any one have a hi res crest pic file?

Another option, this is how I'm going to go. I like the idea of the plexiglass letters that can be taken down and reused later as opposed to the stickers. its not that much more. Besides the below they also have an 8'/9' one for about $80.

choice of either a 60" sign (4.155" tall letters) or a 72" sign (5" tall letters). Either sign will be
$48.00 plus $14.00 S/H.
