RH P-3.6 Wheel Help Please
I think I want to buy some RH Wheels, specifically the P-3.6 (see attached pic). Just to verify, the correct sizes would be (I have a C4S):
- 8" x 18" et 52mm for the front for tires that are 225/40/18
- 10" x 18" et 40mm for the rear for tires that are 285/30/18
(all this wheel/number stuff is confusing!)
The front wheels are $949 each and rears are $1,029 each.
I would have preferred Roocks or Gemballa, but neither seem "buyable". I am told Roocks are no longer made and Gemballa doesn't return my calls/emails.
Secondly, is there anything wrong with these P-3.6 wheels, other than they might be on the heavy side. I don't track the car so don't think that will be a problem. Are they decent quality?
Lastly, assume they don't come with center caps, so I would have to buy those separately? I just have to worry about finish match and then decide on what design I want, correct?
One strange thing: when I called RH Wheels, they told me I have to buy them through one of their retail partners - the closest to me is Tire Discounters. This worries me. I just don't see Tire Discounters selling good quality wheels, or am I just be prejudice based on the name. Do I let them mount them them for me?
Am I missing anything in considering this decision.
Thanks
Rob

I do like the look and I haven't heard anything bad about RH. Those are pretty expensive prices...wow.

Hey guys, we have sold many of these sets of wheels. Unfortunately, the rise in the Euro to dollar, from $0.80 to $1.35 have caused all German-made wheels to shoot up in price. We have special offers to Rennlist members and have packages worked up on the site already. To answer your question about the center cap, it takes the factory. We offer new replacements or the RH logo cap.
As far as the bending goes, I have personally bent a number of wheels (even forged) when I shouldn't have and others that I should have turned out ok. There really is not a wheel that won't bend. The RH lips, alongwith most other European made wheels, are a spun aluminum and are softer than forged. Depending on the height of your car and tire choice, it can really make a difference in the outcome. Running a softer sidewall Euro tire like a Michelin will help deter bends. The S-03's and such are reinforced, thus stiffer, and the impact is handled more by the wheels than the tires.
We have run various setups. Give us a call tomorow and ask for Danny at extension 255 (I will be in meetings most of the day) and we will get you a setup you like.

I'm lowered with SO2's and I ALWAYS avoid potholes, uneven surfaces, dips in driveways, or any other questionable obstacles encountered in daily driving.
Now keep in mind this was on crappy azz California roads. I'm in Southern GA now, so maybe I can save a few greenbacks as the roads seem a lot better.
Ideally, get a set of Turbo Twist as daily driving rims and put these on in the summer
