In specific, I dont know exactly. I will have to ping Steve W. or Alex S (Alex's Autohaus in SLC) and find out the skinny again. Chipping my car became quite the task a few years ago. Three reputable chip companies chips would not work in my car.

Burning Brakes
I know that SAI is a problem in some of these cars and I am sorry you had it hit you, but this car burns very little oil and has been driven as Porsche should. I think many of the cars with this problem have been babied and this added to the failure of the openings. Porsche might have helped us out with harder guides though!

I wouldn't be too unhappy about $40k if I was you. How many cars can you sell for only 50% depreciation after 10 years and 70k miles of use? Most new cars take this hit within three years. Even 997s have depreciated by about 30% in two years.

My 10 year old 96 cabrio
I bought my 96 cabrio in 97 from a friend of mine. He paid in the mid $90k's, drove it for a year and sold it to me for an upper $60k's price.
It has low milege, is properly well equipped as a touring GT and is in excellent conition with a fully documented service history. I think it's maybe worth half of what I paid. Both my friend, who owned it for a year when it was new, and I, who have owned it for a decade, have gotten more thank our money's worth of enjoyment. I have owned a dozen Porsches over the years, and I was lucky enough on occasion to have three at one time. I hope that I have this 993 for the rest of my driving life. It is the high point of the classic 911 design.
(I also have a boxster and I have a Panamera on order...OH BOY!)
If only they would put serious 911 power in the boxster.........

Race Car
My car is worth every dime and more that I have in it/paid for it. That statement hits me every time I walk up to or away from it These are by far the best looking 911's ever made. Not the fastest......maybe, not the best handling? maybe, but by the number of compliments I get on the car every time I'm out with it....................priceless, and a nice ego boost too
And after taking a trip thru Fleabay land last night, it is CLEAR that these cars are holding their values (if not increasing). 996 and even a couple 997's are going for less than some 993. Granted the 993's were Turbo's vs NA 996/997, but still to even have those models in the same price range seems crazy (in a good way) to me.

Interestingly enough, RPM has two 98 C2S that are selling for more than their original sticker price? Is this a sign of prices to come? I wonder if they'll sell for asking price.
