Great looking car K. Is that a caliper painted with the duplicolor brush on paint? Looks good.

Hey Chris,

I painted the calipers with the G-2 paint kit from tirerack.
Three painstaking coats. Three coats of high heat clear coat.
The brush is horrible. I would use a finer brush if I had to do it all over again.
Overall, I am please with how they look.

Thanks again

Kevin

Yeah, I'm not impressed, but what should I have expected for under 20 bucks In the end no one will ever see imperfections at 150 mph so why worry It still looks WAY better than cracked and peeling clear coat.

I want to paint mine but have yet to do so. What if you use one of those foam brushes so there's no strokes? I put some polyeurethane on a table once with a crap brush and a friend of mine did the same with a foam crap brush and his came out smoother than mine.

You could try that, but the paint thickens and tacks up very fast. The instructions say to put on a few medium coats.......more like slather on thick, you won't have time for much else

KBell - wow, your engine really looks amazing without the AC octopus strangling it.

Kevin,
That garage is awesome!! I don't think mine was that clean when I moved in!! Are you planning on going to the DE this weekend? You left something @ my brake bleeding GTG, so I can get it back to you!

By the way - car look great as usual!!

Yes, I'm very curious to know if there is any power improvement w/ the AC delete. Is there supposed to be?

Hey Tim and John,

I will not be going to the track this weekend.
It kills me because I love DE's at Gateway.
Work unfortunately is getting in the way.
Putnam park in July will be my first DE for the year.

Shannon,
With the heavy A/C condensor and A/C components gone, and the RS pulley set-up installed, the car does seem faster.
Personally, I like the look and simplicity of the engine without all the extra stuff.
I highly recommend removing the engine sound deadening material. Removing this material freed up space, reduced 5 to 10 pounds, and lets a great sound of the engine into the cabin. I removed the sound deadening material in the engine years ago and I have never regretted it.

Yes, those are pine blocks.
I like the front to be alittle higher than the back.
This lets the oil drain better.
The blocks allow me to do this.
Very old school, but they provide bigger surface area than jack stands.

Thanks
