Cab again? or Other convertibles in the garage?

Have owned cab, targa and now coupe. Even living in So. Cal, it's either too hot, too cold or too windy to drop the top. Just didn't use it much and there is added expense to maintain or replace, it's a bit louder inside, and not as safe in a roll over or with flying debree. The targa took some work to keep squeek and leak free (20 year old Porsche) but I think it's pretty cool. Many of the cabs I looked at when in the market, showed sun damage to the interior which is another factor.
So, coupe with sunroof seems the best solution for me. Also whether the car will be a daily driver or not may make a big difference. As a daily driver, the coupe seems more pratical.

For me, the couple was the only way to go. Looks, practicality, security, looks, handling (stiffness), safety, did I mention looks?
If I ever do get an open car, it might have to be an outlaw Speedster.

Sunroof vs. cab is not even in the same league.
As I said in my post, I agree that the coupe has bettern lines than the cab. That being said, the 993 cab, with its ancient technology, looks much, much better than the 996 cab. I don't like the hump on the 996 cab at all. At least the 993 cab preserves the lines of the car for the most part. Let's face it, the rear quarter, which looks mostly the same as the coupe, is the view we all love anyway.

When she's topless, everyone stares...
I've had mine for almost 5 years and looking back I think I like the idea of a cab most... It can be a small hassle to put the top down, get out, cover it, then get out, remove the cover, get back in and put it up. Maybe if I lived in a less-rainy climate the top would be down more. (And maybe if I had more hair I wouldn't have to wear a hat.) And there is the irrational fear that some debris will land on me on the highway. But I think I'll wind up keeping it for a while.
I got weak-kneed once and thought a Targa would be a good compromise but wasn't interested in trading... Recently I've flirted with trading my old Land Rover and 993 for a Cayenne S but I can't picture loading muddy kids, tools, and gear into any Porsche, so the stable remains as is for now.

I had an '89 silver anniversary cab and a '95 c2. Found the best of all worlds and traded them both in for my '96 C4 Cab. It's the bomb in all sorts of weather.

Very seriously. White, black safety shell, black leather interior, ABS, A/C, power windows, paddle shift, killer stereo, etc. It comes first quarter '08. I already have an E320 4Matic wagon and a 993 RS clone (plus three bikes and a scooter). This will get driven ten times as much as those cars put together.
