Default laser jammers

Anybody have any experience with these things? I just heard about them yesterday here, in another thread. Do they work or is it just hype? If it's for real, I'm buying one.
Not trying to discount yesterday's feedback, just trying to expand it.

I've got the Blinder X-20. It seems to perform as advertised.

You can find reviews from several reputable automotive publications online.

Here is one example...

I posted this subject years ago after I was zapped with the ladar, and was investigating to build my own gallium laser unit to defeat the police lidars. The laser speed detector used in the police Lidar units operates on a 902 nm spectrum, there are two types of laser diffuser system out there, one operates on LED technology (That's why the Chevy blazers sets off our V1s), the other uses gallium laser. The laser units works better to scramble the police lidar units than the LEDs.

K40 laser diffuser is LED based. and AFAIK is legal in most states, 'cause it is not in the laser spectrum.

My boss has the Blinker and he told me lots of success stories.

I would consider a laser jammer, legality be damned. Hell, speeding's illegal. My main considerations are price, cleanliness of installation, reliabilty of hardware and efficacy of operation.

The way my shifter works and why it is legal in my area is that it isn`t full time jamming . the way I understand it when Lidar hits my transmitters I have ten seconds to get my speed down to the limits because the shifter shuts down and if I get shot again I will be registered . Therefore my unit under law it is not a jammer but I realize in some district any kind of speed detectors are illegal

My laser jammer is on it's way. Ordered a Blinder from the RadarBusters.com site. It's owned by a retired cop and he tests everything, shows the results, makes recommendations, and sells all radar and laser devices. I can't wait to laugh at the first, and every, laser aiming, traffic gestapo b**st**d out there.

I never proceeded with the project as I was told that by just turning on the headlights will have the same diffusing effect.

l.stroup -
I will really like to see pictures of the install.
Where are they going to mount the front units?
Will it be effective enough so low on the bumper?

To really protect yourself from the lidar you will need serveral key components:

(1). Both front and rear protection, the SOP for the police Lidar is to aim for the front/rear license plate or the headlights, as those are the most reflective area (So that's the reason that I was told that by turning on the headlights will help diffuse the lidar). And they were also instructed not to aim the lidar gun at curvy areas of the car where they can't get a good reflect of the lidar beam. (Steath theory...) So mounting the diffuser either above or below the front/rear license plate will help. The rear protection near the license plate is also important, as I was zapped from behind.....

(2). You can't have a diffuser system that is always on, in other words it needs a circuit to also detect on coming lidar and then only allow the diffuser to operate an additional few seconds after that. Supposely you are driving with the diffuser on and when a cop zaps you with the lidar they will get an error message on his gun, and then he zaps you again and if he still gets an error message he will be suspicious that you have some sort of device installed on your car. So..... the diffuser needs to turn off right after a lidar signal is detected so that the cop can detect you again and get a reading, and hopefully by then you have already slowed down enough.

Good luck!

rkb, I saw some pictures on the web site of a vette with the units mounted down in the lower front air intake, so I'm assuming that's what I'll have to do. I don't have a camera and I'm a computer barbarian so there won't be any pics, but I let you know how it went.

My two front ones are screwed onto the aluminium bar behinnd the bumper
and the grill is just cut out enough for transmitter to stick out . Very stealth and the rear one is bolted just above rear license plate .
