Unhappy WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO KINESIS!!

I know they've been taken over by some bling company(avanti?).. I called the Kinesis direct co. no and after a web of automated answering service, the human that finaly answered sounded like he just woke up.

I said to him... "I'm trying to get price quote on Kinesis wheels please"..

without asking which model.. he quickly answered "$900 each!"

I then said (giving him a chance to be a little bit more professional).. "I'm looking at the K-18Rs".

He said right away.."they're all the same!".

So I asked.. "How much do the K-18R weigh?"

he answered without hesitation.. "we don't have weights but they are light!"

so I said thank you for your help and hanged up.

I remember them asking everything about your car and set up and looking up specs so they could give you the accurate info. This is sad... once a good company. I'm hoping I just got the disgruntled employee ..

Mike,

Kinesis made a deal with the devil, and the devil, well, he's got his mind on his money and his money on his mind.

Call www.forgeline.com I spoke to the owner a few days ago and they have a few new styles coming out shortly. As good of wheels as the "old" Kinesis and much better service.

Hmmm...does that make the old Kinesis more or less valuable?

Yikes!

Bruce,

I think it means that if you have old Kinesis rims, you'd better take great care of them.

GratefulJED,

Are you saying that Fiske will service Kinesis wheels?

I hope! Fiske is about 6 miles from me!

Kenisis was based in Carlsbad Cali. They made a high quality 3 peice wheel at a fair price. The problem was increased material and assembly cost put them in a price bracket with Fiske and HRE and they didn't have the name recognition outside Porsche owners to continue as and independent producer. So they sold out.
