Question question about sports suspension

I have a 1997 n.b. car that has the 030 factory sport option. I want to change the front struts as well as the rear shocks, as car is now ten years old even though it only has 15K miles.

I want to use bilstein struts and bilstein shocks in the rear. If I use this combination, can I bring the car down to r.o.t.w. ride height without changing the springs? Would like to keep the car as origional as posible I would sacrifice ride height to keep the origional springs. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

The USA 030 option is NOT the same as the ROW 030 option i.e. ride height is higher on the USA springs.

So, to answer your question, no you cannot as springs set the height of the vehicle not shocks-unless of course the struts/shocks must be mounted in a way that change the stock geometry but this does not occur with the Bils.

You need Euro 030 springs to get the ride height you are looking for or another type spring like H and R if you want to go non OEM.

You can find used Euro M030 springs. At the time I was looking, I found 2 sets in two days LOL!!!

Yes. Using U.S. M030 springs on Bilstein HDs, you can get to ROW "normal" height, but not to the lower ROW M030 height than many people prefer. The rears are the limiting factor.

Jukelemon, the Bilsteins have an adjustable spring perch, so there's about an inch of lowering available independent of spring length.
