Spend a little more and look at my car. A C4S with a lot of modifications.

I agree with the general sentiments here - this one is priced a little too high but it it's The One, well, a couple grand shouldn't be the issue. I passed on an unusual Irish shotgun a couple years ago because it was a few hundred more than I wanted to pay. I still kick myself.

I paid $35K for my 96 C4 though it has double your mileage an a bit more wear. I did get new 18" BBS wheels, new tires, new brake master cylinder, new brake pressure accumilator, ECU upgrade, carbon air box lid, and K&N airfilter as upgrades in the deal. The car you are looking at sounds like a good deal at $36K to me - without any mods. $39K seems high - IMHO. Hope this helps.

39K seems high to me... but the fact is, there just aren't that many of these cars around. And spring is coming, so prices blip up a bit.

I wouldn't pay more than 36 myself, but you might have to wait months for another to come around. That's the way it is. They are rare.

If it is the car that you want, color, basic options, don't let a few thousand stand in the way. Like others said, try to meet half way. If you think you can find another and you only want to spend X amount, it's your decision.
I only wanted white, it took me 3 years of looking seriously and casually, and when I finally started seriously looking, it took awhile. I wanted a white car, turbo, C2S or C4S. The prices on turbos were ridiculous, especially when only turbo s cars kept coming up. I waited and found a few premium examples and then made my choice.

In fact, i'd go so far as to say he's smoking crack. It's going to take a while to sell a car like that unless the price is really good, which it's not.
I'd go so far as to say an owner of a yellow car who puts down a white car is also smoking crack or simply doesn't know much about the market for white cars vs. yellow cars.

If that car was at a dealership it would probably cost more.

"Orig owner, 36,500 mi, 6 spd, hi-fi, full service history"

Totally worth 39K any day of the week. If it were a metallic color it'd be 42K.

Dude...........It's his car. The owner sets the price and if it sells or not, it's his deal. Simple .

My car (96 C4 41K miles for $39.5K) was indeed at a Porsche dealership.

But I tell you, some of us (like me) strongly prefer the C4 to the C4S, and as such, $39K for a low mileage car seems like a great deal.

That would add at least $3K to the price.

If its price that is weighing on things, keep shopping and find the one that meets your price range.

I paid $36k for my 95 C4 with 34,000 miles almost 5 years ago. At least $6k in receits and upgrades included.
