Emergency "hood and trunk" opening.
I was browsing the 964 forum and saw a post that dealt with opening the engine lid using the emergency pull wire. I checked in PET and sure enough an emergency pull is fitted for both the bonnet & boot (aka "hood & trunk") of our 993s.
In a 964 it seems to access the emergency pull you have to remove a rear light cluster - is this the same for our cars? And, how do you gain access to the luggage compartment emergency pull?
Hopefully, I never need to use this soon to be acquired knowledge!
TIA.

My 1995 had the front boot release that is accessed by removing the front portion of the LF fender liner. It didn't have one for the engine lid. I added one that is accessed by removing the LR fender liner. I think putting it behind the left taillight might be better. Then it can be accessed by taking out one screw.

Wanted to bump this with a question. Over on the 996 board there is guy with a trunk opening problem, the 996s have the same emergency pull cable we do.
Someone suggested that you need to pull the emergency cable hard to release the front trunk lid. Has anyone here had to do that with their 993? I had my liner and bumper cover off a while ago and out of curiosity tried to pull the emergency cable on mine - it wouldn't budge.
Who's had to pull the emergency release on their 993..?
