Have used the Battery Tender for years on boats, motorcycles and cars. FYI, the BMW and H-D chargers are rebranded Battery Tenders.
As to your request for cig. lighter attachment I'm going through that now and will be making a cig. lighter adapter for the BT. However if you don't want to do that the Porsche charger through Sunset sounds like a good deal. I have 3 chargers, I don't need another one.

I have the Battery Pal from Paragon Products. I paid $31.95 a year ago. It has worked well. I added the cigarette lighter connection.

I second (or third) the Schumacher...I have been using mine sinse 1998. It is on-board and I use an extesion cord to plug it in to. It comes with a short pigtail. You just have to remember to close the latch so the lights go out.

Is there another brand model out there?

At risk of virtually everyone weighing in here, I have had large and small Battery Tenders. My large one ($60!) crapped out after a couple years. My "Junior" model is working just fine. After feeling burned, I replaced the large one with one from Harbor Freight Tools for $10, which is working great. Doesn't have the fancy ring terminals and bullet quick connects, but the alligator clips work fine on my truck.
There's also the guilt of buying Chinese crap from Harbor Freight (roughly 99%), but damn, if I didn't buy some of my stuff there, I simply wouldn't buy it at all...

You don't want the $105 one anyway, since it doesn't fit well into the lighter slot on the 993. Get the porsche part sunset sells for about $55 bucks. I have one and my car fires up like a charm after sitting for longer than I'd like to admit.

I have a few, one of which bears the Porsche name. This maintenance charger plugs into my cigarette lighter. Is there a way to install an adapter so I don't have to remove the cord before driving? If there is, is there a drawing or photograph of how this works? Thank you.
