Default Stupid Question de jour

I was informed that my side marker light/fog light was not working. It looks like you have to take off the ugly bumperette cover to get the foglight/side marker assembly out. Is that right? How do you remove the bumperette cover? Or, do you take out the turn signal assembly, which is just "outboard" from the bumperette, and then there is a way to get the sidemarker assembly out?

I think you get to remove the bumperette. Look at the front surface of the bumperette. See the little scribed piece... that is a rubber part that pops out to expose the hardware to get the bumperette off. Very simple really.

The side marker will come off without having to remove the bumperette-- just one screw, then slide it foward. They are often stuck, so one has to be a little creative in getting it to slide forward.

For the foglight, you do have to remove the bumperette. Pry out the little rubber cover on the face of it, there are two small nuts that need to be removed. They are sometime rusty. I wanna say these nuts use a 8mm socket. Then the bumperette will come off exposing the fog light mounting hardware.

Cool. When I get it out of the parking garage, and into some light, I'll have a look-see.
