I have a bit of a thing for the C2S look & would like to do 2 things. First is the colour coded twin engine lid grill which seem widely available. Secondly, some of the C2S models came with cup 2 alloys in anthracite grey - does anyone know what this colour is or have a view? they seemed to be fitted to a special model in a colour called Vesuvius with contrasting grey mirrors, door handles & grill. Was this only in Britain?
I want to re-colour them in anthracite!! - any ideas?

I checked the PPG web site, they list Vesuvio (my favorite color ever put on a 993) but not the mirror/grill color, Anthracite. Never knew that was the name.
If you can get the paint code from the dealer you can probably find the color.

PPG's site works pretty well for this kind of thing. You can look up by make/model, paint code, color name, etc.: http://ppgcarpaint.com./

I think that paint code will be key on this one.
I also tried paintscratch.com but they don't even list Vesuvio.

Oh, and this was not only in Britain. We have this beautiful color over here too.

Hey phil, I might be able to give you some additional info on thisone.. The Vesuvius metallic was a limited edition colourcombo only available on the C2S. It came originally with 31mm spacers and cupII's with painted wheelcenters, just as you said. However, this did not apply for all countries. Even though the came with 17's in Germany for example, the standard setup in France and Sweden was with the 18" hollows.. I myself have a C2S vesuvius and I am really happy with it. On top of the painted wheelcenters, these cars came with painted mirrors, door handles and splitgrille. Also, the Carrera S logo on the decklid was also painted this colour.

As for the colour (that includes on every detail described above) it is not called Anthracite but rather Stone grey metallic. The paint code is MAT POR61W or in glasurit: P61W

This color comes originally in MAT. The shift **** brake handle wheels mirrors and door handles , Of Course, have lacquer applied after.

Full color code with Sikkens (Akzo Nobel), impossible to get from Glasurit
