OT Electronic guru needed
I have a 2002 MB E55 with the navigation system. Somehow, my beloved wife and daughter managed to jam the in dash part of the CD player. The bad news is that is where the Navigation CD goes. So, right now I have no navigation, which I use a lot for my line of work.
Stealer will not fix, just replace at a cost of $4000.00!
As I think this is only a mechanical issue, I am really annoyed. Is there anyone out there who knows where I can send this to get fixed for a reasonable price? These units sell on Ebay for about $1000.00!
Thanks in advance for any input!
Ron (lost in Florida without a Nav!)

I'd just pull it and take it apart, they are not too complicated. I would think any competent stereo repair place or computer repair place could probably tackle it if you get in too deep. A CD drive is a CD drive.
You can always pick up a TomTom 300 for $350 or so, it's probably better than the factory system. The one in my former 03 M3 was terrible.
