true story --- the day i met my mechanic, he was doing the ppi on my car to determine if i should purchase... he was literally giddy with the condition of the car, "this is a real porsche, etc." later, when i was driving it home, i pulled over on the shoulder of the road to take an important phone call i got... i had the hazards on... i was probably 10 miles from the dealership... he happened to be leaving work, saw me, and pulled up behind me and got out of his truck to see if something was wrong with the car, said he was "worried that maybe he missed something"...
no one has touched my car since and he has proven to have an acute sense of detail and completeness in everything he does... i believe that there are stories like this in most major cities... go find someone with similar experiences.... PCA, rennlist, etc.

Scientific Automotive in Pasadena California. Jack, the current owner bought it from Roger Burch, of Burch exhausts. Has saved my butt by telling me "do not buy this car" a couple of times. Straight shooter. My family has been taking our Porsches there since 1969.

Okay, here is my recommendation for the San Francisco Bay area.
Pacific Power Motor Sports in Concord has competent current shop equipment, total Porsche dedicated mechanics who know Porsches, low overhead, mostly PPMS keeps a bevy of personal racering Porsches up to snuff in all mechanical aspects.
So,..... do you think they know how to carefully and professionally handle our 993 needs? They personally race this vintage and there is no part on the car that is a stranger to PPMS. Nice people, friendly access, totally knowledgable and hours flexible, including weekends. Not affiliated. Customer only.
Regards, Gary

Jason at RS Enterprises in Ventura. Basically a one man shop. Very honest and he too knows Porsches.
For alignment, Darren and his son Chris at West End alignment in Torrance. There is none better.
