Just a quick question for people who have had ownership experiences of water-cooled Porsches, and especially 997s... do they have THAT smell (you know what I'm talking about)? Or is it exclusive to our darling air-cooled babies?

That smell is oil and it just ain't in the new cars :-)
As nice as they are, they smell more of polymers and plastics from the interiors. Which is still a nice "new car" aroma, but not the old-school 911 oil and leather fragrance.
