Here is how mine was done... backing plates welded under the floor.

The lap belts bolt to the existing seat belt points.

cool pics Jean-Pierre. Side note- it looks like your straps may be improperly routed through the buckle. Schroth's manual describes proper routing if you have any questions about it. I'm not criticizing, just trying to help you be safe.

I have a question about the sub-belts... they pass between the legs, correct? So if you are in a frontal impact, you tend to absorb force with your... area between the legs, correct?

I'm sure that's preferable to doing an accordion impression in amongst the floorboards, but... geez!

The purpose of the anti-sub belt isn't to keep you from going forward, that's what the lap belt is for. It keeps the lap belt from going up/the body from sliding under.

That was the problem with 5 point in F1 cars where the driver sits much more reclined. 6 pt belts, which is the topic of this thread, helps solve the F1 "gentleman's" problem...

Also, Chris, do you have pictures of your installed "modified" mount?

Default 6 pt anti-sub-- separate mounting points?

Can we go back to the issue Edward and TheOtherEric raised about the correct location of the substrap mounting. My existing installation in a 944 has been using the same eyebolt for both lap belt and substrap just behind each corner of the seats. It appears from TheOtherEric's diagram (from the Schroth instructions I believe) that this is improper and you are supposed to use 2 different mounting points. Correct?

They are a bit too wide so I had to shorten them about a 1/2".
I also use them in my 964 and never had to shorten them. The entire package from a 996 fits perfectly but sitting a little straight and higher. Change the side mounts to lower the seat and you are done.

For the lap belts, on the outer side I use the same hole for the stock belt but replaced the nut with eye bolt and for the other side, had to drill a hole. Sme thing for passenger.

So you're saying the BK 996 substrap mount bar fits in the 964/993 without "shortening" it?

Can you show us a picture of your install?

Thx.

I had to shorten the bk 996 substrap mount when using pole pos seats and bk side plates.
Works fine in stock size with the gt3 seats with bk side plates though.

Just my experience. Several other variables in play such as build dates...

How did you shorten it?

Did you mount your pole positions/bk sub mount/bk side plates to OEM sliders or aftermarket sliders?

Thx.

Grinder. It wasn't much. From my dim recollection perhaps 1/8 of an inch.

This is width rather than height. Right?

But still able to use the original mounting holes on the mount or did you have to widen them also?

Thx.
