On the practical side, I might recommend hooking her up to a Battery Tender, if you have A/C power available. Isn't putting the car on jack stands or blocks good for the tires as well? Does he need to drain any fluids? I know there's a "long term storage" thread somewhere, but I don't want to freak him out with stuff that's not critical...
