Default How the change the remote key fob frequency?

My 993 came with only one remote key fob. I then bought a remote fob with the wrong frequency from Ebay.

Anyone know a DIY to change the frequency of the fob? I check the parts in both remotes. They all have the same board the parts. It could be that only the frequency crystal needs to be change. I search the board the found the following three models and frequencies:

Robert Bosch RK116 – 315 MHz (my car’s remote)
Robert Bosch RK114 – 433 MHz (my Ebay remote)
Robert Bosch RK112 – Don’t know the frequency

I need to change the 433MHz frequency fob to 315 MHz. May be I just need to replace a crystal or something (you know those helmet looking parts). The part may cost couple of dollars. Get a new fob from the dealer will be couple hundred dollars. Any idea will be greatly appreciated.

You need to change the SAW filter on the circuit board.

315Mhz is for America (that's why your FOB says "FCC" on the back).

433Mhz is for Europe.

Doubt if you can change the freq. - IMHO you would be better off putting it back on fleabay - and mentioning that this fob is ONLY for our European brethern.

Turns out my car is using RK116 - 315MHz and not 433MHz as I previously thought.
Previous owner or someone must have switched enclosures for RK114 so I was mislead into buying 4x 433MHz RK114 remote fobs and switchblade style fobs.
I have 4 sealed and unused (2 switchblade and 2 separate remote fob style) brand new RK114 433MHz for a swap for a brand new RK116 - 315MHz fobs if anyone has done the reverse in error.

Hi JB 997, I've got the 433MHz and would be interested in the swap. The fob is at my friend's on the Continent but I am in London and will have it shipped if agreed. You still interested? Thanks.
