Aero mirror glass removal - THANKS

I need to remove the mirror glass on the driver's side of my '94 GTS. There is the 'hole' in the bottom of the mirror, and it seems that there are 'notches' on a removal ring, similar to the late flag mirrors. Are they removed in the same manner as the flag mirrors? IF so, which way does the bottom of the screwdriver go to release the glass - toward the driver, or away from the driver? If they release the lens in a different manner, what is the technique?
THANKS for any assistance from someone who has BDDT.
Cheers,

Thanks Mike, that's a start. Sounds like it is exactly like the 'flag' mirrors of the late '80's. Still not sure whether the handle of the screwdriver goes in or out. I've tried both, but the 'locking wheel' doesn't want to move. I have the same problem as described in that thread - in and out doesn't work on Driver's side, but up and down does, and both work on passenger side!!

Gary,
On the flag mirrors with the bayonet locking ring, I have pushed the bottom edge of the glass into the housing which allows a thin screwdriver to access the locking ring from the top: you can actually see what you are doing ... as opposed to fishing blindly upwards through that miniscule hole
.
I have never tried this on the teardrop mirrors - yet.

Mike, Jason, and Garth,
THANKS for your help. Finally got the glass of, but had to use some Kroil Penephite sprayed on the back side to release whatever was binding the attachment mechanism. Now - need some parts to get the adjusting mechanism operating correctly (see my ad in Member to Member Want Ads).
Cheers, and THANKS again.
