Hi JohnD
I've got the same problem in my driver's side footwell ,
any chance you could give me some pointers on how you get to the flap - what sections of carpet ( the trunk release lever? ) carpet etc. I'll need to remove to get to it? / how best to fix it open??
Many thanks
T.

It's really easy (even I can do it )
First - on the front trunk release latch - remove the two hex head screws - the latch cover will come off....
Next - the carpeting insert can then be slid to the rear, and released from it's forward catch hook. Just pull it towards you and put aside...
Next - there is a wiring clip holding two wire connectors. Unscrew the 10mm screw - and move that clip aside...
Next - the "flapper and motor" is held in place with two short pieces of air hoses (one from the bottom longitudinal and the other end going into the front trunk air box). There are 4 hose clamps (2 to the flapper and the other two into the longitudinal/air box.). Loosen all four large clamps (8mm socket or screwdriver).
Next - remove the hoses/flapper - and disconnect the wire connector to the motor...
Finally - there are three Phillips head screws holding the motor to the flapper. Remove the screws and withdraw the failed motor unit... Use tape to tape the flapper into the open position (until you get a replacement motor) - and reinstall...
Total time - about 10 minutes..!!!
Hope this helps!!!

Hi, yes looked at the 964 site, from ViperBob's post ( thanks )
but I only checked the drivers side footwell, not the side air vent...so thought footwell fix woudl solve the problem...
But - Nasty feeling now it might be the whole drivers side that is stuck on cold....so will use the 964 link -
will check tomorrow.
