Movie is 8 pm EST (5 pm PST) on SPEED network. This is one of those movies that fueled my thirst for high performance cars growing up! I enjoy watching this one and a few others (like Bullit) once in a while.

Hopefully they'll run it in the original Strine language and not the dubbed-for-America version.

If nothing else the line about the lost ah the vee-ite Eeentaceptahs just doesn't work in American.

When I first seen this movie as a young kid I really wanted a muscle car with a blower that was switch activated!, I was disappointed to find out years later that blowers don't work like that. I know NOS systems achieve the same effect but in the movie it was much cooler watching the blower spool up.

One of my favorites is when max is on the overpass waiting on the knightrider (?) on the desolate highway passing below.... The switch activated blower and last of the mighty V-8 comment was classic as well...

-totally filmed in australia ...
-extremelly low budget ...
-made worldwide fameous to almost unknown Mel Gibson ...
-Max's full name is Max Rockatansky...
-Max's car was nicknamed The Interceptor.
-till today (as far as i searched) was the movie with biggest return in the history !!! ..... cost like a 1 million and produced over 100 .. !! no other movie had a bigger retrun over so few money invested ...
