I recently removed all of the old clear bra material installed by the PO. I think it was 7 or 8 years old. It took more than three hours! The material did its job during my 3,200-mile drive home from Seattle more than a year ago, but was really showing its age. The edges were coming off in places and the material was dull and yellowing. The PO had installed the material behind the door handles, on the leading edges of the a-pillars, on the leading edge of the air intake, inside the fender arches, and of course on the hood and front bumper. The car looks so much cleaner now and benefited from an extensive cleaning, polishing and waxing shortly thereafter.
The technique of pulling horizontal to the sheet metal seemed to work best. I only found adhesive residue when using the heat gun.
Since the car is not a daily driver, I'm fine going bra-less for a while. Maybe Premier will make it to the East Coast one day
