I am so sorry for the stupid question. However, I could not find the answer from the search function or the manual. Can I fold side mirrors?
I tried exerting some force, but there is a bit of resistance. I just do not want to break them if they are not supposed to be folded.
Thanks!

Keep in mind that he forward fold is better because there is a "detent" in this position that lessens the load on the spring. When you fold them backwards they touch the window without reaching the detent.

All cars should have folding mirrors. My wife wiped off the passenger mirror of her Camry at the garage door opening on four occasions. Her new Charger has so far avoided the same fate.

They fold in for pedestrian safety, just as hood ornaments like the M-B star must be able to fold and are spring mounted. That way, as you mow down a pedestrian and crunch some bones, ligaments and vital organs, you don't scratch him with the ornament.
