A friend with a 97 Turbo had a cel, and came over to check everything, on my PST2 last summer.
PST2 showed 1 out of the 4 O2 sensors was dead.
We changed the O2 sensor and all was perfect after.
I still have the other 3 sensors since he has bought all 4 from the dealer.
Could I replace my O2 sensor (993.606.126.01) with one of those (993.606.116.01 or 993.606.118.01) ?
I have read through the threads that some think its only the plug-socket that changes
in the reference
George : My understanding is like yours - the cable length is the difference. If you go to rockauto.com, they show that a 97 carrera S requires 2 upstream (bosch 13721) and 2 downstream (13723). The pictures of them look identical (body and plug) - only the cable length is different. The turbo is bosch 13577 downstream and 13564 upstream. All sesnors appear to have ths same body and plugs (single in-line, 4 wire connectors). My experience has been that bosch will alter the PN for different cable lengths for perfect fit. After all, how does a Bosch 15738 universal O2 sensos work for all the above applications? The question I cant answer is if the turbo o2 sensor has a shorter cable.... If it does, you could always splice in the new one sn reuse your old plug!
